About Us

The Canadian Institute of Energy B.C. (CIE) is a broadly based, non-profit organization open to those involved in all aspects of the energy industry.  CIE's objectives are to provide a Canadian perspective on energy technology, business and policy, nationally and internationally, for those affected professionally or personally by energy issues; to encourage energy research, education and dissemination of topical information; and to provide an unbiased forum for discussion and debate of energy-related issues.

The membership is comprised of representatives of B.C. energy companies, consulting and service firms related to the energy industry and government and regulatory agencies.

CIE's monthly luncheon meetings and annual conference provide an excellent informal environment meeting contacts and building relationships.  To enhance networking opportunities, joint luncheons are periodically held with other organizations, with an interest in energy.  CIE's annual conference provides a more in-depth examination of energy issues of relevance to B.C. Speakers' presentations and conference proceedings are on the branch's Web site.

Monthly luncheon meetings are held at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Vancouver.  We  also periodically host special events such as meetings between our organizational members and key government decision-makers to discuss energy issues.
